Labels
Custom labels play an essential role in modern product packaging and branding. From retail packaging and food products to cosmetics and promotional materials, labels help businesses communicate product information while creating a professional and recognizable appearance.
In many cases, the label is the first element customers notice when they pick up a product. A well-printed label not only provides important information such as product name, ingredients, or instructions, but also helps reinforce brand identity and visual consistency.
Another important reason labels are widely used is cost efficiency. Instead of manufacturing fully customized packaging for every product variation, many businesses choose a more economical approach: purchasing standard packaging or containers and applying custom labels. This method allows companies to maintain flexibility while keeping production costs under control.
For example, a business might use the same bottle, jar, or box for multiple product variations while simply changing the label design. This makes it easier to update branding, launch limited editions, test new products, or produce small batches without investing in entirely new packaging.

Because of this flexibility, label printing has become a practical solution for businesses that want to maintain professional packaging while keeping costs manageable.
At UE Print in Sydney, we provide a range of custom label printing solutions suitable for different applications, materials, and environments. All of our label products can be customized in size, quantity, shape, and design, allowing businesses to produce labels that match their packaging and branding requirements.
Paper Stickers
Paper stickers are one of the most commonly used label materials for retail products and packaging. They provide a clean printing surface, excellent detail reproduction, and a cost-effective solution for many businesses.
Our paper label stickers are supplied in A3 sheets and produced using professional Konica Minolta digital printing equipment. This production method provides very sharp text and precise detail, making paper stickers particularly suitable for designs that contain small fonts or intricate graphics.

Paper stickers are often used for:
- food packaging labels
- bakery product labels
- small retail packaging
- product information labels
- short-run promotional stickers
The paper material used for these stickers is water resistant, which allows them to tolerate light moisture or refrigeration environments. However, they are not designed for long-term outdoor exposure, as they are not UV resistant.
Another advantage of paper labels is that certain finishes allow the surface to be written on with pens or markers, making them useful for products that require handwritten information such as batch numbers, dates, or customization.
Because they are produced using digital printing, paper sticker sheets are also ideal for small and medium production runs where flexibility and detail quality are important.
Vinyl Labels
For products that require stronger durability, vinyl labels offer a more robust solution. Vinyl materials are designed to withstand water, outdoor environments, and prolonged use.
Our vinyl labels are produced using HP Latex printing technology, which uses water-based inks that are environmentally friendly and safe for many commercial applications.

Vinyl labels are typically used for:
- outdoor product labels
- equipment labels
- packaging that may be exposed to moisture
- bottles and containers
- long-term promotional stickers
Vinyl labels provide excellent resistance to water, sunlight, and general wear, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
One characteristic of latex printing is that while it provides excellent durability and colour stability, very small text is not reproduced as sharply as digital toner printing. For designs that require extremely fine text or dense information, paper labels may still be the preferred option.
However, for labels that require durability and environmental resistance, vinyl remains one of the most reliable materials available.
Clear Stickers with White Ink
Some products require labels that blend seamlessly with the packaging surface. In these cases, clear stickers provide a clean and modern appearance by allowing the packaging material to remain visible through the label.
To achieve this effect, specialized printing techniques using white ink are required.

Without white ink, colours printed on transparent material would appear translucent and lose vibrancy. White ink allows specific areas of the design to remain opaque while maintaining transparency in other parts of the label.
There are two common white ink techniques used for clear labels:
Under Flood White
In under flood white printing, a layer of white ink is printed beneath the coloured artwork. This creates an opaque base layer so that the colours above appear solid and vibrant even on transparent material.

This method is often used when the goal is to maintain strong colour visibility while still using a clear sticker.
Over Flood White
In over flood white printing, white ink is printed on top of the artwork rather than underneath. This technique is used for special visual effects or when certain areas of the label need to remain visible while others appear frosted or highlighted.

By combining clear materials with white ink printing, businesses can create labels that look more integrated with the packaging design.
UE Print also offers clear and ultra-clear sticker materials, which provide different levels of transparency depending on the desired visual effect.
Ultra-clear materials are especially useful for premium packaging where the label should appear almost invisible on glass or smooth surfaces.
